Brief Answer: most common is a viral illness Detailed Answer: HI, thanks for using healthcare magic The burning sensation in the throat may indicate that your throat is infected.Infections would cause the area to be inflamed so it would react to the orange juice (or any acidic or hot foods/liquids). Viral infections are more common than bacterial infections. Viral infections would also cause fever with or without chills. The chills occur as the body's 'thermostat' is trying to reset to a higher temperature. There are different types of viral infections but the most common would cold or flu. The use of the nquil , which contains paracetamol, would definitely help the fever and relieve any additional cough and cold symptoms. Other aspects of fever treatment would be the use of cold liquids and tepid sponging. Rest would also be important I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
