Question: Hello 4 days ago I had a car accident, I didn't have any injuries and didn't get taken to hospital, on the weekend I was sore and achy in my upper back, shoulders and neck, today I started coughing and when I do there is a burning sensation at the bottom of my throat and chest area in my wind pipe area could this be a sign of injury?
Thank you in advance

Brief Answer:
This is not a sign of injury.

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks so much for this query.

This is not a sign of injury. If you sustained an injury, it would have been felt from the scene to sooner before this. This sounds more like a flu or viral infection of the upper respiratory air passages and not a sign of injury. How severe are the pains?

For now, much fluids, fruits and rest is enough. If a fever sets in or the pain is concerning, they tylenol is advised. Otherwise, no aggressive measures or need for a hospital visit at this time unless something else comes up.

Keep me informed with your progress. If there is additional information available, I will review and guide accordingly. Until next, stay well and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications.
