What Causes Burning Pain And Tingling Sensation In The Shoulder?

default
Posted on Wed, 11 Jan 2017
Question: I have had an issue with my left shoulder for a little while now. I work in a nursing home currently and I noticed one day a burning like pain in my left shoulder. It usually progressed throughout the day, barely feeling it in the morning. Now the feeling has changed to the burning plus a tingling sensation. I don't feel any weakeness in the muscles in my shoulder or anything, it's more a nuisance than anything. I was just wondering how serious this seems/if I should see a doctor?

Brief Answer:
Probably degenerative spine disease.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

Symptoms you describe point towards pinched nerve.

Conditions that may cause it include degenerative spine disease, herniated disc disease of the cervical column.

Imaging studies such MRI of your neck are necessary to evaluate better your condition.

Regarding to your symptoms, seems a condition at its first stage, however measures should be taken to prevent progression.

Physical therapy, exercises to strengthen muscles of your neck and use of NSAID drugs is necessary for this purpose.

Discuss with your primary care Doctor about these issues.

Kind regards.
