Brief Answer:
You are required to test again after couple weeks

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Equivocal test does not mean either positive or negative. You are required to test again after couple of weeks as some infections require time to be positive. If not, you can undergo sophisticated tests like PCR tests to get accurate and rapid results. I strongly suspect viral infection and so antibiotics which work only for viral infection were not effective for you.

Kindly do follow up visits with your treating doctor. It is needed.
