What Causes Brown Vaginal Discharge After Menstruation While On BC?

Question: Hi I have been having some brown discharge after my period for about a week now, i am also taking birth control could that be the cause? I also found something in vagina, I dont know if it is suppose to be there, I will upload a picture

I have seen the pictures and there is nothing to worry.
But this continued discharge despite of birth control is not good.
Do a urine pregnancy test in case there is a history of unprotected intercourse and let me know the result.

Okay thank you, I will get a pregnancy test, I just start taking birth control about a week and a few days ago I thought that since im taking it, my boyfriend and I wouldnt have to use condoms.

If the pregnancy test comes back negative , what else could the brown discharge mean

Nothing to worry now

Good the test is negative so nothing to worry as brown discharge is common in some cycles due to incomplete shedding if endometrium but in case it recurs in subsequent cycles then get a transvaginal ultrasound done to rule out certain problems like endometrial polyp or ovarian cyst.
No need to use condoms now if you are taking all your pills well in time without missing any of them.
