What Causes Blurred Vision Post Cataract Surgery?
Question: Following a second surgery to remove a sliver of cataract that was left in my eye, my vision is still very blury, will my vision ever be normal ? how is it possible to NOT have some kind of lasting damage /

I hope you been completely evaluated before the first or second surgery.
Usually none of the cataract lens is left during a cataract surgery. Sometimes we perform an intracapsular surgery and the capsular membrane is left. Presuming intracapsular surgery was performed initially, the capsule may develop opacity in future. Therefore I assume this was removed now and you shall have no more cataract.
That being said, if you still have hazy vision, it warrants detailed examination of the operated eye. I recommend visual status examination; fundus examination and health of retina and macula. After knowing present damage we can advice the next steps of treatment. There may be a need to see a retina surgeon.
In this context, I suggest you go back to the operating surgeon and discuss my views. You might consider retina surgeon consultation thereafter.

Actually a sliver of the cataract was left in my eye, how this happened is beyond me, i am a nurse !
My ophthalmologist said the fuzzy vision is because of oedema of the cornea, because of the " foreign body ' in my eye.
The second surgery was performed to remove the sliver of cataract.
I think my vision is very slightly improving, but it is slow and very frightening. i no longer have the awful pain of feeling like a needle was in my eye !
