What Causes Blood In Stool?

default
Posted on Fri, 4 Aug 2017
Question: I have had what appears to be blood in my stool on back to back mornings. On the first day I saw it but then I had another bowel movement later and there was no blood. The next morning there appears to be blood again. I had been checked for prostate cancer two years ago and there was a polup, but it was not cancerous. They told me to be re-checked in five years. I am a diabetic also.

Brief Answer:
Could be hemorrhoid!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

With a colonoscopy 2years ago that showed no cancer but polyp, there is no chance that you could have developed cancer in this short time. This might be a hemorrhoid or mere bleeding from hard stools. I will suggest that you monitor only for now. If it becomes regular, increased volumes or other symptoms such as pain set in, kindly report to me for further review and guidance.

Increase your fluids, fruits, vegetables and fiber intake. Also, exercise often to help keep the bowels open and active.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to follow up with me if need be.

I have been taking a fiber supplement daily. I also have been drinking smoothies which have fresh fruit, frozen fruit, plain yogurt, and TexasSuperfood supplement. I also have been on a probiotic capsule for two weeks.

Brief Answer:
How is your stool?

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

If this persists, then I will suggest you get stool and anal exam exam. Depending on these results, you may need further testing say colonsocopy.

Keep me posted on these!
