What Causes Bleeding Of Gums For 3 Months?

Question: I have bleeding gums from 3-4 months .. I had got the scaling done from dentist in Nov 2012 and bleeding problem did not stop.
This week went to another dentist who suggested to get OPG done , after that he is saying to rmeove all 4 wisdom teeth and get a laser periodontal surgery done , which incidentally costs 17K
Now for second opinion , went to St Johns , there i met XXXXXXX doctor , HOD of the dental department , who suggested that there is no such treatment required and suggested to get the scaling done.

Now I am confused , who is correct and what should i Do ?

I have gone through your query, bleeding from gums is there when there is deposition of food debris in supragingival area and subgingival areas of gums so there is nothing to be worried so much , I will suggest you to go for Subgingival Scaling and Root planning .

In meantime you can do XXXXXXX warm saline gargle two - three times a day, Do chlorhexidine mouthwash once daily .

You can use waxed floss also to clean interdental areas of tooth .

I have got scaling done today from St Johns , the dentist told me , after scaling was done that there were no deposits in the gums . She has advised to come after 2 weeks.

Should i send u my OPG x ray , so that u can check and confirm there is no bone loss from the teeth. The bleeding gums has been going for more than 6-7 months now

Yesterday I got the scaling done at St. Johns Hospital. Doctor told , there were no deposits , I dont know why scaling was done , if there were no deposits.

I have seen that report (OPG) and I think there is horizontal bone loss in it. In my opinion there is no need to go for surgery. For bone loss you can go for non surgical treatment Root planning and Currettage and consult your dentist with in four to six week for re-evaluation of your oral hygiene .

You can use chlorhexidine mouthwash for oral rinses, Do XXXXXXX warm saline gargle two -three times a day and you can discuss with your dentist for oral administered drug like doxycycline to reduce bone loss.
