Question: I have had abdominal pains, ever for the past 5 days. Twice I have had to wrap up because of uncontrolled shaking because of fever. two days after the start of it I felt fine. I worked and the next morning I was back to the same symptoms.
I also have had problems with my prostrate since I was 16. If that might help.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
To recapitulate: Male/47 - pain in abdomen - 5 days - fever > shaking- wrap up twice - felt fine after 2 days - back to same symptoms - problems with prostate since age of 16... tried fever med.

A per the short history you have posted, this looks to be due to one of the following reasons:
Urinary tract infection.
Or an intestinal infection.

Please give additional information for me to assist you better:
What are the other symptoms:
Any urinary symptoms?
Any intestinal symptoms like bloating, nausea, vomiting, loose stools?
Fever with chills > since when?
Any referred to other parts of body?
Any other symptoms you would like share?

Detailed history helps a lot in clinical diagnosis and further management...

I would advise you the following:
Clinical evaluation by a Doctor.
Investigation of blood, urine and stool.
Further investigations like Ultrasonography of the whole abdomen.
Medicines as per the symptoms for symptomatic relief and specific medicines as per the final diagnosis.

The fever has been off and on for the past 5 days.
Mostly just sharp abdominal pains with diarrhea and then times where a feel like I have to go but can't.

Brief Answer:
as explained in details.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your feedback.
This looks to be an intestinal infection with bacterimia/septicemia as you have fever with chills.
I would advise you the following:
- Clinical evaluation by a Doctor as this helps to know the seriousness of the problems as the symptoms may not match the seriousness of the problems in some cases.
- Tests of stool, blood for infection and wellbeing.
- Get started on an appropriate antibiotic and other medication as per the above things.
- Supportive and symptomatic medicines as you are already taking the fever reducer, probiotics, electrolyte solutions, plenty of oral fluids to maintain hydration.

I hope, this answer helps you.
