What Causes A Rash On The Back Spreading To The Chest And Stomach?

Question: I have had a rash on back for 8 months now that is spreading to chest and stomach. It does NOT itch or feel like anything. Pics of
what I've tried attached. Went to dermatologist 8 months ago and prescribed ciclopirox olamine. Didnt work. Also tried apple cider vinegar, tee tree oil and hydrocortisone cream.

I am dr.kakkar(dermatologist). i have looked at the image.

This seems like a superficial fungal infection i.e pityriasis versicolor.

I would suggest a single dose of an oral antifingal e.g fluconazole 400mg tablet.
topically you may use ciclopirox olamine. not hydrocortisone.

Hi I have already tried the ciclopirox and it did not work. My dermatologist I no longer have insurance with prescribed me that. I re-sent pic of it. He took a black light to rash and said he has never seen before. Can I ask for pill over the counter? But will it work if Ialready tried several fungus creams?

fluconazole is a prescription antifungal. Oral fluconazole would work better because of the extensive distribution of the rash.
