Thank you Dr, for your assurance.Wanted to know what is driving her to refuse feed while awake? Even when she is taking feed when drowsy, she starts vigorously first and after drinking 20 ml starts pushing the bottle. Is it a sign of reflux? She has started doing this about the same time she started thumb sucking.she does throw little bit of curdled milk sometimes...about once/ twice in a day.
Earlier she used to cry for hunger at night, but now she just sucks her thumb when hungry and falls asleep....

Hello Dr.
Below are my answers
1. Birth weight was 3.16 current weight is 5.3 kg. We are struggling to ensure she meets her daily feeding target by feeding her in sleep.Every feeding session we struggle to make her feed
2. She has social smile and recently started to turn on her own.
3. Stool is sometimes runny sometimes pasty. Haven't checked for oily. She has two clear color of stools each time..part of it is yellow and part of it is dark green
4. Skin is mostly pale color...no change I think.Haemoglobin was 9.9 when we got checked about 15 days ago
5. No history of infections.

Brief Answer:
Suggestions on grwoth and development

Detailed Answer:
Hi... I have calculated her weight in comparison with her age and birth weight. She is doing well. Her percentile is between 5th to 10th. Anything between 5th to 95th is normal. This is according to USA CDC standards. Do not worry.

As her weight centile is normal, you need not worry about her food intake.

A well growing kid and an active baby is a well baby.

But as her pediatrician I would like to follow up her height, weight, head circumference and development regularly at least once in a month.

Coming to your queries -

1. This is not suggestive of gastroesophageal reflux.

2. Some times some kids develop some self satiating behaviors - one of which is thumb sucking. This is too early an age to be concerned about it. This is not the reason for her under feeding. Even though you are feeling that she is under fed, her weight is normal. So you need not worry.

I wish your kid a bright future. If you need any future medical consultation and suggestions, I will be glad to help. You can approach me at the following link.
