What Are The Side Effects Of Simvastatin?

default
Posted on Wed, 1 Mar 2017
Question: several days ago the wife and I found a pie chart detailing opinions on simvastatin and lymphoma side effects. the pie chart shows likelihood of something. sorry my diagnosis after brain biopsy at XXXXXXX clinic put me in the very small pie slice -- low likelihood. I have successfully completed 7 rounds of chemo. I am very lucky and am making a recovery. we are trying to pinpoint what went wrong but bottom line ... the current pie chart shps no association and my personal pie slice is gone. I am writing a book and I wanted to grab a screen shot to paste in the book. certainly we would provide proper reference to this excellent site. I am written up in at least one neurology journal. thank you in advance for any help. :)
intravascular lymphoma (ivl) diagnosis from XXXXXXX clinic. had been taking simvastatin after double bypass ... in recovery ... the cardiologist changed doubled from 40mg to 80 mg based on 7-week-old lab work hdl =20 ldl =22... yikes... strokes followed. the rest is therapy and recovery.

Brief Answer:
It seems only by chance

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear. I appreciate your concern and efforts.

However, the association seems only by chance. Till date, I have not come across a single case link or even any discussion in tumor boards.

Feel free to discuss further.

Thanks and regards

yes there was no tumor. only a blood cancer -- lymphoma. I specifically asked about a post of a few days ago. this lymphoma is very rare -- the pie chart is changed from 2 days ago. perhaps your it folks can restore from backup. this is not a satisfactory reply to a very specific question. perhaps another specialty is called for.

Brief Answer:
There is no evidence of increase lymphoma with statin

Detailed Answer:
Hello again. Iam sorry but i ddnt find any report association between lymphoma and statin use. In fact statins have anti lymphoma properties and their use reduces the chances of lymphoma.
