What Are The Side Effects Of Febuget?

default
Posted on Mon, 9 Nov 2015
Question: hi, recently got my Lipid profile done and Uric acid turned out to be high at 8.1. Doctor started me with Febuget 80 since 14th October, from the next day itself I was feel discomfort like light headedness, some time heaviness at the back of my head, weird sensation on my left arm, and spasmodic pains at the finger tips of the left hand. Last night it was really bad, and hence I went to the doctor today and he reduced the dose to Febuget 40. Also go an ECG done which was normal. Whatever that I have mentioned, are they side effects of Febuget? Also, I am on Olmezest H - 20 mg, for high BP.

Brief Answer:
your symptoms may be side effects of Febuget 80

Detailed Answer:
hello,
I am Dr.Rajesh Teli,MD.
I have gone through your query. Thanks for using HCM.
The symptoms you described may be due to febuget 80 mg.Your doctor has rightly reduced the dose to see your tolerance of lower dose.If your symptoms still persist you may have to discontinue Febuget. There is another medication called allopurinol to lower uric acid. You may discuss with your doctor about change of medicine .Hopefully your problem should be solved .
You have not given information on reports of lipid profile.Kindly send the lipid profile report so as to enable me to guide you in case you need lipid lowering treatment. You should continue Olmezest H 20 in the same dose, kindly discuss with your doctor about effect of Hydrochlorthiazide contained in olmezest H on uric acid.your BP should remain below 140/90.
My best wishes
Dr.Teli.
