Question: Hi Doctor

I have been asked to have Flotral 10mg for my mild prostrate enlargement problem.
I am having the same for the past 1 week, though my urinary problem is totally solved.
It appears I have some side effect, like having severe back ache & overall weakness in the body
and dizziness. Is it due to side effects of this medicine. Ifso, will it become alright once this medicine
is attuned to my body..Please note am also having Rozavel 10mg for my cholsetrol for the past few years... Kindly respond....thanks..

Brief Answer:
The side effects of Flotral will vanish in good time.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX

I'm Dr. Neel Kudchadkar and I'll help you with your problem.

1. Indeed, yes, Flotral (Alfuzosin) causes these side effects like dizziness and
weakness, a feeling of ill being in the body. Even Rozavel is said to cause mild muscle pain.

2. The good news is that the side effects of Flotral decrease and vanish with time. The time that it takes for the body to adjust depends from person to person.

4. Always take Flotral on a full stomach.

Dr. Neel Kudchadkar

Dear Dr. XXXXXXX

Infact, you are correct, I feel like having some fever always apart from body pain(cause may be due to Raozavel) & tired. I hope, it will subside soon.

My doctor says Flotral has to be taken lifelong, is that so, even for mild enlargement, Please clarify, I can ask my doctor again to reconfirm based on your inputs.

Brief Answer:
Feel free to change your medication.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX

It's been nice knowing you.
I totally understand you. In fact let me make it simple for you.

1. BPH is nothing but an increase in the "Tissues" of your prostate gland through
which passes a "tube" (urethra) carrying urine / semen (white fluid discharged after sex).

2. This increase in tissue size "squeezes" the "tube" so urination becomes difficult.

3. Flotral is simply a medicine that "relaxes" the prostate tissues like "opening the cap of a soft drink bottle". Please note, I am merely communicating with you and educating you about BPH, in the best way possible, through examples.

4. You may take Flotral as directed by doctor. Suppose you do not comply to it you have options other than taking Flotral.

5. Mr. XXXXXXX this is 2015, please, there are urological techniques that can permanently cure BPH, of course, given the right doctor and hospital.

6. You are free to take the treatment of your choice. If you don't like Flotral, switch to another drug.

Take care,
Dr. Neel Kudchadkar
