Brief Answer:
Healthy life, diet, exercise and losing weight if obese should be your ca

Detailed Answer:
Hello, I am Dr. Mody and I would be addressing your concern.
Firstly as you are young, try finding and ruling out all reversible causes of hypertension, which you must discuss with your doctor or you may give more details history and upload investigations done so we may not repeat any.
Now coming to your answer.
1) was your blood pressure 150/90 and after that you have been started the meds, or you are already taking the meds and it's still 150/90
So sir being realistic all lifestyle modifications would be able to decrease the upper systolic BP by 8-10 mm hg and diastolic BP by 4-5 mm hg, so rather initiate all modifications and continue the meds at present and we may taper down the dose as soon as the pressures are well controlled rather than stopping the drug at once.
Most importantly cut down salt in diet, so no more preserved, fried and commercially available food like chips, pickles, etc. Your total intake of salt should be no more than 3 gms a day .
Increase fresh fruits in your diet and more green leafy vegetables as they are rich in potassium magnesium and calcium and will help decreasing your pressure.
Cod fish oil and garlic are two supplement which may help decreasing your blood pressure.
45 mins of aerobic exercise per say, which includes brisk walking, swimming and cardio in gym.
If your obese your important priority is to loose weight and achieve BMI atleast below 25.
Cutting down of the stress factors in like and work would work magic.
You are young and all change now will help you live a healthy life.
Hoping I could help
