Question: I had undergone Angioplasty 9 years back. i am having regular healthcheckups including CT Angio/ECHO/TreadMill etc and every thing is normal sofar. My last checkup was Dec13.
I had a viral fever attack recently and the temp went upto 103F. I went to a Doctor and while standing I felt like fainting and was unable to see or recogonise places and things. i managed to get back home and slept. Next day after taking breakfast i went to the Doctor who after checking my B.P said it was only80/60.

Brief Answer:
Due to dehydration. Take more fluids.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
I am Dr. Prakash HM and I will be answering your query.

Based on your query, my opinion is as follows:
1. Your low blood pressure is related to recent fever.
2. Associated dehydration due to fever and low fluid intake could have caused it.
3. If you have no limb edema or edema elsewhere, not to worry.

You need to take good amount of fluids, oral rehydration salts with water. Taking more salts alone would not be of much help.
During fever hydration is very important.
Avoid any falls due to dizziness. Take rest.

Check your blood pressure after a week, it would have come back to normal. Not to worry.

Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.

Brief Answer:
Yes, continue with proper hydration

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking again.

All the medications are important. You can continue with all the medications and workout.

If hypotension or dizziness continues even after proper hydration, metXL dosage reduction maybe necessary.

90/60 is OK. Below that is never good. Followup with blood pressure. If it falls, you need to discuss with your doctor regarding dosage reduction.

Hope it helps.
