Brief Answer:
Wait and see

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. Upper GI pain with flatulence make it a gastric discomfort . Use of aluminum hydroxide ( mylanta) may likely turn the color of stools to carrot red. However i would like you to be on the safer road and get the occult blood test for stool to be done to rule out any blood in stools, if found then you will need work up and endoscopy to sort out the cause of bleeder internally, i am sure it won't come to that.

Take some antacid for the relief, eat small frequent meals and see if it helps. Wait and see , if the bowel movements stay red for more than 24 hours seek a doctor.

I hope it helps. take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.

Khan
