Question: I am h pylori positive. I have upper chest pain and bad acid reflux for several years. My blood work showed that I am not anemic. I am not spitting up a little blood. I am terrified that I have stomach cancer.

Brief Answer:
You need to have a upper GI endoscopy and H pylori eradication

Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to health care magic! Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. We will try to help you in best way possible. First of all, it is sad to know what you had gone through.

Based on the history you have shared, you need to have H pylori eradication therapy and an endoscopy to look for any ulcer or gastritis or inflammation caused by H. Pylori. Also if you had taken H pylori eradication if may recur as it's notorious in doing so. It may need a course of antibiotics like clarithromycin, amxocilin or metronidazole alongwith antacids like omeperazole or pantoprazole before meals for upto minimum 2 weeks.

It's good that you are not anemic and that is indeed a good sign. You still need to have motility agents like domperidone for reflux and regurge symptoms.

It is however very early to make such diagnosis like you have mentioned based on these symptoms so an upper GI endoscopy can help you with diagnosis as well some tests to help you clear your mind including biopsy as well as microscopy.

Hope this has answered your query, if you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Regards.
