Suggest Treatment For Tachycardia And Shortness Of Breath

Question: Hi!! My heart is perfectly healthy. I do have Supra ventricular tachycardia though. Resting heart rate is 90-100 sometimes 110 standing. Laying down it rests about 70ish and 60 when really relaxed. My question is when I am anxious I suffer from horrible anxiety and panic attacks... I have tried medicine my whole life it doesn't work. Meditation helps. I am on Xanax though .25 mg 3x day.

My question to you is this... how long can the heart beat 150 beats or so hard without causing death? Sometimes I get anxious and it takes forever to slow my heart down... I saw a cardiologist once and she said it can beat like that 130 for 3 months and I would be fine. Is that true? I want to visit a friend and in afraid if I have a panic attack or bad anxiety and can't slow my heart down something bad will happen.

Basically how long can the heart beat at let's say....200 beats per minute? Only happened once and I was in the ER it was caused by stress. Thank you so much!

Brief Answer:
Probably many years.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.

Welcome to Health Care Magic.

Well to answer your question nobody can tell an exact period of time but a healthy human heart can beat for years with such frequence and nothing bad will happen like .
Of course with such frequence you will have symptoms like shortness of breath, lightheadedness, heart palpitation ,chest pain,
fainting.

If the heart beats with a very high frequency for a long period of time , it can happen that the function of heart muscle will be damaged , in this case the person will have a heart insufficiency.

Hope it answers your query.

Take care.
