Brief Answer:
It is important to make an x-ray.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

Apply ice packs to limit swelling and it may helps relieve pain. Wrap the ice pack in a towel to protect the skin. Also over the counter pain killers may help reduce the pain.

Symptoms like swelling and pain in the injured area may indicate bone fracture so I suggest you to make an x-ray of your hand to diagnose a fracture. Try to rest the limb as much as possible and avoid any lifting.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
Note: For further queries, consult a joint and bone specialist, an Orthopaedic surgeon. Book a Call now.
