Suggest Treatment For Suicidal Thoughts, Anxiety And Irregular Periods

default
Posted on Fri, 14 Aug 2015
Question: I have no relevant allergies nor have I ever had an STD and have dilligently been using protection ever since I began engaging in sexual acts with others. I have the nexplanon implant and have had it since march of the presemt year. I have experienced moodiness and thoughts of suicide, bouts of increased anxiety and irregular periods. I kept the implant in because it is effective. Or so I thought. I may be pregnant or I may have some issue with periods im not aware about. I have gone from a 34 to a 36 D and the change has been noticable to my significant other. I have had strange cravings and smells that usually make me hungry make me ill now. It seems as though i may be pregnant because of this and my increased nausea. I have had strange discharge a mix of bloody clots with veins and pink discharge and brown like old blood, very light. Ive taken 5 pregnancy tests, all negative. I dont know what to do with these new and awful cramps i sometimes get. Could i be pregnant, is this implant just not for me? I dont know if a gynecologist will check me if im still bloody. I had a faint positive but it may just be an eval line. This has been going on for a mo th now. I also have issues passing stool where i never have before. Pictures are of last big clot. No more big clots since. Just pink brown and that.

Brief Answer:
Pregnancy is unlikely

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for your query.

I have read you query and I understand your concerns about your problems.

Following is my reply:

1) I dont think you are pregnant that too with nexplanon in place.

2) These mood swings and discharge, pain are not due to nexplanon.

3) You are likely to be suffering from hormonal changes. You need to be on oral contraceptive pill for 3 months which will help in correcting bleeding pattern and mood swings.

4) Please see your gynecologist and also a counsellor in regard to mood swings and suicidal tendencies.

5) You are not likely to be pregnant.

I hope I answered you query and addressed your concerns.

Let me know if you wish to ask any further questions. I will be glad to help you.

Regards,
Dr. Soumya
