Question: I have been sick for a month or so. It keeps going away and manifesting itself in different. First it was diarrhea and vomiting , I went to the doctor he said it was viral and to rest so I did, the next week my chest and nose became completely congested so I took Mucinex and it went away, the next week I woke up and my ears were clogged, particularly my left ear. I used dobrex to see if I had an built up wax, nothing came out. I then went to the doctor again who said it was an upper respitory infection, viral, and he put me on Claritin D, no antibiotics and he didn't even look in my ear. I started taking Claritin with vitamin C, a woman's vitamin and vitamin D2. A couple of days ago my ears cleared but then I woke up today with chest congestion, a stuffy nose and feeling tired. I had a slight low humming in my ears again and they were almost itchy. I just now had a very sharp pain in my left ear. I feel so sluggish. Please help, I'm so tired of feeling so bad.

Brief Answer:
Sounds like sinusitis

Detailed Answer:
Hi
I am Dr Mittal.
I have read your message.
I think I can help you.
The symptoms of the query are quite suggestive of a possible sinusitis.
It's best treated with following
1. steam inhalation 4 times a day ,
2. warm saline gargles 4 times a day,
3. multivitamins course once a day
4. antibiotics as per local sensitivity
5. paracetamol sos.
Since you were on antibiotic already - claritin is clarithromycin is an antibiotics - I will suggest these measures . Follow diligently.

Best of luck. Dr Mittal.
