Question: Can you get a tickly cough with a cold/sinus infection. Monday I started with very dry throat, and by Wednesday woke very congested with on and off pain in upper cheek area. Went to Dr. and he gave me Zpak and told me to use Flonase. Wednesday night very congested and pain in upper cheek area plus slight earache. Started using Flonase Tuesday night, and by Thursday could breathe much better. Mucas has been clear from the start so I am not totally convinced that it is sinus infection. Now i keep getting a tickle in my throat, and feel like stuff is dripping in back of throat mostly when lying down. Thoughts?

Brief Answer:
This could be sinus infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
I had gone through your question.
I can understand your concern.
This could be sinus infection. Tickling in throat could be post nasal drip secondary to sinus infection. Sinus infection could easily spread to ears as our ears are connected to back of nose with a tiny tube. All your symptoms most probably suggestive of sinus infection.
Complete the antibiotic course.
You can use tablet levocetrizine with montelukast for decreasing post nasal drip.
Steam inhalation to ventilate sinuses and improve sinus drainage.
Analgesic like tablet ibuprofen for pain relief.
You will be fine.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any questions, I am happy to help.
Wish you a good health and speedy recovery.

Could it have come on that quickly? Should I have waited more than 2 days to see Doctor? My other concearn is that I was just on the same antibiotic a month ago for Bronchitis? That seemed to clear up and now this. So you think the cough is from the tickle that I keep getting in my throat?

Could Sinus Infection come on within 2 days? Should I have waited to see if it cleared up on it's own. Mucas coming out was never thick. Has been thin and clear since this started.
