2)Is the pain more in night or day?

Sometimes of a night I have tingling sensation in my hand or arm.
I do have a thyroid disorder, I have hypothyroidism

In view of your Hypothyroidism and forearm/wrist/thumb pain,I would suggest you to get physically examined by a neurologist.You may be advised to undergo a Nerve conduction studies of upper limbs to rule out 'Carpal tunnel syndrome' which is fairly common in Hypothyroidism.
De quervain's syndrome of course, is another strong possibility.A physical examination by the neurologist will guide whether you should undergo a 'Nerve conduction test' or not.
