Brief Answer:
I'd recommend as follows..

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX, welcome to HCM,
I've gone through your query and understand your concern,

While the pain was due to the improper posture and the bad pillow, I'd recommend you to try something else apart from the hydrocodone (please note that it's a potential opioid medication which is only recommended for severe pain which other conventional analgesics and pain-killer fail to control).. please also note that at the age of 76, it's not really a safe choice of analgesic..

You can simply take Tab IBUPROFEN 400mg two times after food just for today only..

Continue the Tylenol 650mg three times daily after food for next 2-3 days..

You can also apply analgesic spray containing Diclofenac/Aceclofenac (eg. Voveran etc.) two to three times daily..

Also apply some hot fomentation over the area gently twice daily for next 2-3 days.. avoid rubbing the area.. avoid any sudden movement of the neck, excessive bending, and strenuous activities (if at all you do) for the time being..

With all these being followed, you should get better within a matter of time only..don't worry..

Do let me know how you stay in the due course

Take Care
Kind Regards
