Question: Hi I had severe gastric and acidity issues last week and i am having acid reflux for past 2 months but very severe from last 15 days. And i consulted the doctor in my place who is an MD Surgeon and he gave Rabega D tablet, sucrogen tonic and himalaya gasex tablet. Asked me continue with a diet and partition the food in to 7 times a day with fruits and vegetables and asked to avoid spicy and hot foods. And later the my symptomps become little worse and we went for an endoscopy on 23/8/2014, but the results are normal. The report states Upper, middle and lower esophagus, OG Junction, Fundus, Body, Antrum, Pylorus, duodenum 1st part, duodneum 2nd part everything is normal. Now i am little fine now, the diet and partitoned foods 7 times a day giving me a releif from gastric and acidity. But while drinking hot or cold water i am feeling the hot and cold sensation in my chest and i can feel the flow of water in the chest passing through and sometimes until stomach. This sensation irritates me a little some times the chest become little cold for few minutes. And having stomach and chest tightness after the diet and small meal too. Can you please suggest me the exact problem which i am going through?

Brief Answer:
it's GERD

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX,

I have read your query. It is GERD or Gastro Esophageal Refulx Disease that you are suffering from.

I am glad that your endoscopy is normal. However, you can still suffer from GERD with normal endoscopy.

What you are feeling in yoru chest after taking cold or hot water is nothing but normal. Everyone feels the same when taken hot or cold. You are feeling it more because of the GERD.

I would suggest you to take only lukewarm and mildly cold water, and not very hot and very cold water.

Continue your diet in the similar way that you are practicing now, you should be fine soon.

I hope your query is answered.

Take care and wish you good health.

Regards,

Brief Answer:
lack of saliva secretion

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX,

It could be because of lack of saliva secretion from the salivary glands. It can be due to stone or other problems in the salivary glands.

Drink 2 glasses of water every one hour to prevent the same.
