Brief Answer:
You may need anti-depressants and counselling...

Detailed Answer:
Hello ,

Welcome to Healthcare Magic and thanks for your query.

I understand that you must be going through a very difficult time in your life due to your problems.

You have mentioned that you are suffering from the following symptoms:
- feeling low in mood
- poor self-confidence
- negative thoughts
- self-depreciating thoughts
- anger and frustration towards yourself
- wanting to be isolated
- weight gain

All these symptoms are clearly indicative of Depression. Now, these depressive thoughts and feelings are already causing you much of impairment in your personal, social, occupational and day-to-day functioning. So, it is high time that you get professional help to overcome your depression.

Now, the good news is that there are effective treatment options available which can help you come out of this depressive phase. The best treatment approach would be a combination of 1) medication and 2) counselling.

There are medication called anti-depressants which are quite effective in relieving these depressive symptoms. In addition to medication, counselling is also important. There are specific counselling therapies like CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) which have been proven to be very beneficial in overcoming such negative and depressive thoughts and improving your self-confidence.

Regarding your weight gain, it is likely that this may be due to your depression and lack of activity. But sometimes, thyroid gland problems can also result in both weight gain as well as depression. So, I would also advise you to have thyroid function tests in order to rule out this possibility.

So, my advise to you would be to see a psychiatrist in your place as early as possible for starting anti-depressant medication and counselling. Don't worry, with appropriate treatment, you will be able to come out of your problems soon and gain confidence and self-esteem.

Wish you all the best.
