Brief Answer:
Need complete evaluation to rule out bacterial infection

Detailed Answer:
Hi
I completely understand your concerns but don't worry. The symptoms of your child with counts of 17500/mm3 is in favour of a bacterial infection. Since he has cough as well, so a chest X Ray is must to rule out pneumonia. Also, a good clinical evaluation by pediatrician and blood investigations esp. Hemogram with peripheral smear, CRP and blood culture will be of use.

The dose of paracetamol and monocef O needs to be appropriate for his weight for maximum benefit. Kindly mention that. You may upload complete reports and X Ray for my review. Further management plan depends upon evaluation and investigations as mentioned above. Ensure good healthy diet and fluid intake.
