Hello

Thank You for contacting HCM. My name is Dr Muhammad Ali Rauf & i will look into your problem.

I have gone through your query and would try to help you in the best possible way. Allergic reaction usually takes few days to resolve completely. If i were your treating doctor then i would have advised following things:

- cetirizine one at night for 5 days
- apply Betamethasone 1mg over the burning area.

Hopefully you will see improvement in 2-3 days BUT if conditions remains same or aggravates then you need to visit hospital for further workup.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help if not then don't forget to close the discussion and rate it.
Wishing you good health !!

Thanks for your response. This was of no help to me since it is the weekend and I can't get to a doctor. Will I need a prescription for the cetirizine and Betamethasone?

Brief Answer:
Cetirizine is OTC medicine

Detailed Answer:
Hello

You are welcome.

Cetirizine is OTC antihistamine. You won't find any difficulty about getting it. Am not sure about Betamethasone because in some areas it is OTC while in other areas it is not. Betamethasone is not on top priority at this moment. You can take cetirizine only and hopefully you will see effects in few hours.

Thank You
