Suggest Treatment For Recurring Uterine Fibroids

Posted on Fri, 17 Mar 2017
Question: I am a 45 yr old XXXXXXX XXXXXXX female who was told that I should get a hysterectomy due to a regrowth of a fibroid. When I had my first myomectomy...the dr said that he didnt know if he got it all and they may grow back...which they did. I know that I nees and want these fibroids removed and in the last 2 months it seems like the fibroid/s are higher up...they have gone above my navel line and I wonder if thats why I feel like my abdomen is distended and bloated at times...even after an overnight 12 hour fast.
Also sometimes it feels like the fibroids are kicking. It sometimes feels as if they are jerking in my lower abdomen. It comes and goes...especially near the time of my monthly menses.
I know that I need to get a second opinion...which I plan on doing...but the gyn that I saw said that it was a 20cm fibroid that was intramuscular and that I needed a hysterectomy and he wanted me to schedule asap.
I do have bouts with anemia...and the first 2/3 days of mense is heavy. I want to avoid a hysterectomy...what can I do...and what type of specialist should I see?

Brief Answer:
Operation is must

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, thanks for trusting HealthcareMagic,
Yes this needs surgical removal but in case you want to avoid hysterectomy then myomectomy can definitely be done
But you should see a urogynecologist at the earliest possible so that it can be removed without any problems with other structures like ureters and bowel
Since you have had a myomectomy earlier also so this there can be plenty of adhesions.
So it is must to get it operated from an experienced surgeon only.
All the best

Brief Answer:
Chance symptom

Detailed Answer:
You should see a urogynecologist or at a doctor trained in gynaecological surgery.
This tingling is just a chance finding and not related to fibroids.
You should take a lot of antioxidants in the form of fresh salads and fruits.
All the best
