Brief Answer:
Suggestive of allergic reaction of Chantix.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX, Hi
Good morning!

I appreciate your concern for your present problem.

After having gone through the query I am of the opinion that you have developed an allergic reaction to Chantix.

Basically effective in quitting the smoking, Chantix (Varenicline) can cause allergic reaction in susceptible individuals producing swelling of the face, mouth, peeling of the skin and the swelling of the throat that may cause trouble breathing.

First and the fore most thing is you must stop taking Chantix.
The steroid (prednisone) prescribed by your doctor is effective in reducing the swelling, etc. An antihistamine like Levocetrizine can also be added to steroid to enhance its efficacy in reducing the swelling, etc.

Hope to have answered your query, kindly close this discussion if you are convinced or a follow up query is always welcome.

Best regards.
