Suggest Treatment For Progressing Pain In The Hips
Question: I am a 51 yr old female in overall good health except that I am having pain in my hip, especially at night for several years, however it is getting worse and now hurting during the day, effecting my gait and my activity level.
Hip pain, mostly at night, but worsening. Have had very minor pain off and on for 15 years, but never bad enough to remember mentioning it when I go to the doctor. But now pain has increased a lot and effecting my sleep and my ability to exercise the way I normally do. Also, I am feeling pain during the day and I'm starting to limp when I walk. If I spend a lot of time on my feet, walking....I get very little sleep from pain that night. Kind of figured it was bursitis, but now I am starting to worry that it could be something more serious.

Brief Answer:
Hi This pain needs careful evaluation by physical examination and x ray/MRI
Detailed Answer:
Hi
This pain needs careful evaluation by physical examination and x ray/MRI if needed.Certain degenerative changes occur in joint if untreated leading to erosion of joint surfaces and distortion.limping is enough indication for complete evaluation now.You may avoid direct weight bearing/alternatively use a walking stick in opposite hand totake some weight off the affected hip directly. Also you may take acetaminophen/Diclofenac group of medicines after consulation with a orthopedic doctor
