Question: I started taking 50mg of oroxine about 5 weeks ago for hypothyroidism. I have always had regular periods at 30 days, they have always been like clockwork, I can also tell when I ovulate etc each month. This cycle, I didn't have the normal ovulation and pms symptoms at all. I am now due for my period in 3 days and have a very light, brown discharge... I have never had this before, is it relative to the oroxine and should I be concerned? I'm 29 years old and we hoping to try for a baby in the next 6-12 months.
Thanks,
doctor

Brief Answer:
There is no need for concern.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
I am Dr Ramadevi Wani. I will be answering your concerns today.

Occasionally there may not be ovulation during a menstrual cycle and this is normal. Occasionally premenstrual spotting before periods is normal. It is not related to the thyroid hormone that you are taking. You need not worry.

If you have further concerns, I will be happy to answer.

Best wishes,
Dr Rama

when i am in the shower and the water hits my face, specifically the right side, it sounds like a rubber band snapping sound in my ear. sometimes when i am applying makeup with a makeup sponge on my face near my nose i hear the snapping sound. my ear does not hurt and there is no drainage. what could it be. it happens a lot. i also seem to be off balance and sometime suffer from dizziness. I am 47 years old, 5 3 and weigh about 187 (recently gained weight from hypothyroidism). I take lorezepam (2mg) at bedtime and synthroid (25 micrograms) every morning

I have severly itcy feet, but only on my left foot. Scratching to the point of broken skin. Feet are dry and cracked. I recently was diagnosed with hypothyroidism (about 6 months ago). The armour thyroid medicine seems to have brought my levels up to almost normal; however I still have some symptoms such as carrying around an extra 10 -15 lbs. and now the weather is changing extremely cold hands and feet. Also I still have a lot of joint pain. My concern is the itchy feet. What would a visit to an endrocronlogist entail?
