Question: Hi,

I had an incident with deep kissing an unknown person. She told me that she was just visiting the country for 31st December and few days.

I was too drunk when I kissed her.

It had happened 69 hours ago.

Since last 10 hours I do have symptoms like HIV ARS related to sneezing, sore throat, feeling week, body aches, headache, runny nose, fever and diarrhea.

Can HIV ARS develop within 3 days after exposure?

My gums do bleed in mouth when I brush my teeth.
Can the HIV virus in blood from her mouth enter through my gums in my mouth?

I had taken PEP medication some time ago, few months ago.

Can the body develop symptoms related to ARS early i.e. within 3 days if PEP course was taken before?

Do I need to take PEP again?

Do I really ARS symptoms?

Please advise. I am too much worried.

Brief Answer:
PEP not required.Allay fears of HIV

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for query.I am Dr Bharatesh Devendra Basti answering your query.
Welcome to health care magic.

I have gone through the details.
The chances of transmission of HIV by Kissing is nil, unless there are bleeding wounds or ulcers in both of you in the area of contact. Here in your case it is unlikely. So you can allay fears of HIV.

The symptoms that you have now may be due to respiratory contact with the person. ARS possibility is nil. There is no necessity of PEP (post exposure prophylaxis). Forget the episode and beware in future. Take over the counter medications for your newly developed symptoms like Tab SINAREST thrice a day you should be normal in three days. Rest for three days and have good amount of decaffeinated liquids.

You can get back for any clarification.

Hi,

Yesterday I had bad fever, cough, very bad throat. Took ibuprofen and antihistamine, feeling little better, but just saw that blood came out in cough.

I also see there are some build up white color thing on my tongue, which looks like bumps.

Is blood in cough sign of anything bad?

Thanks

Brief Answer:
Tiny amount of blood in sputum is not a problem.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for follow up query.

Tiny amount of blood in sputum during respiratory infection is not a problem. If it persists or worsens, you can consult your doctor for further evaluation.

White thing in mouth mentioned may be due to poor hygiene during the infection.

Otherwise you can continue the same symptomatic treatment .

You can use tongue cleaners and mouth gargles. If still persists you can get it examined by a doctor.

You can get back for any clarification.
Thank you
