Suggest Treatment For Persistent Muscle Pain In Arms

default
Posted on Sat, 2 Jul 2016
Question: I have had what appears to be muscle/nerve pain down my left arm for almost four weeks. I have been to a chiropractor, two different massage therapist and care now which they gave me a steroid shot and steroid pack for a week. None of these things helped. Im lost for what to do next.

I have pain that goes down in to my fingers. My left side of my hand has been numb for the entire time. I believe it started from a knot I had in my upper/left part of my back near my shoulder blade. I believe it resulted from lifting weights. I have had prior pain in my left shoulder and what felt like tennis elbow in my left arm. It bothered me but was tolerable. I continued to lift weights on a regular basis and most times felt pretty good. This pain wont go away and I have no clue what to do. It is very painful!

Brief Answer:
It can be due to nerve compression in spine.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case. I think you are having cervical spondylitis. In this condition there is nerve compression in spine. I have following suggestions for you.
1. Get MRI to see how severe is compressing disc?
2. Take Pregabalin M daily at night time .
3. Steroid injections are ok but do not take steroid tablets for long time . It has serious side effects.
4. You need to avoid sitting in same position for long time. Avoid using very high pillow.
5. Soft cervical collar can be worn. There is good role of cervical traction and neck muscle strengthening exercises.
I hope this answer will be useful for you. let me know if there is any other followup questions. thanks

I have gone to a kinesiologist for my lower back in the past. They study the movement of the body and have helped me out before with my lower back. Do you think this type of chiropractor could help this situation?
