Question: I have been having blood in my urine for about a year now..I also have right side rib and flank pain..I have had a ct of abdomen/ pelvis and it showed nothing..My last blood test showed mucus in urine as well as rbc 3-5..On my cbc my wbc were 12.8..I am really concerned that this may be cancer..

You have had blood in your urine for 1 year. You have also had CT scans of your kidneys which was reported as normal. With this report you should have no concerns about kidney cancer. The likelihood is very remote. The amount of blood in your urine is microscopic and not something we worry about since you had scans already reported as normal. The mucous in your urine is normal also so no need to worry there as to where that maybe coming from. Overall this all looks normal and nothing you should be alarmed about..
