Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Arch Of The Right Foot
Question: My husband is having pain in the arch of his right foot. The pain goes from the bottom of the arch and continues up around the arch to the top of the foot. We have tried arch supports in his shoes and sometimes it works and other times it make it worse. It is affecting his ability to walk for very long periods of time. He is 71 years old but has never injuried the foot.
Brief Answer:
Rigid flat foot may need surgical correction
Detailed Answer:
Hi there.
Thanks for the query.
He could be having flat foot with is rigid and may not correct with shoe inserts alone.
This needs to be evaluated better at the Orthopaedic Clinic to look for signs of rigid flat foot which may need surgery to treat.
Also recommend him to wear Microcellular rubber slippers.
He can get a foot Xray for further evaluation and upload for my review.
I hope I have answered your query.
I will be available to answer your follow up queries.
Thanks and regards.

I forgot to mention that he has sharp pain in the arch area running up to his ankle and farther up his leg. The pain is there even when he is sitting in his recliner with his feet up.
