Posted on Fri, 29 Jul 2016
Question: Hi,

i have been a group c strep carrier for few years now. I have done multiple round of antibiotics and still positive for throat culture. I have also been suffering from weird heart palpitation, headaches, urinary problems and joint pains as well as very soar throat and post nasal drip.

I have passed an nasal endoscopy and they found a mass in my nasopharynx. Could that be the cause of my carrier state ? Is it normal i cannot get rid of it ? What would be your suggestion in that case. thank you

Brief Answer:
Re- upload the photos

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I had gone through your question and understand your concerns that you are having nasopharyngeal mass with post nasal drip.

Answers and solutions for your query.

1. your photos are not uploaded properly, kindly upload them once again.

2.Yes. Possible. Naso pharyngeal mass can have associated bacterial infections and can show prolonged carrier state.

3. Yes. You can get rid of it ( first, mass should be defined in the means of biopsy and CT scan of nasopharynx).

4. Need tests, blood tests ( nutritional deficiencies to rule out palpitations (anemia can be the cause). Urinary culture and sensitivity test can be the answer for recurrent infections.

Hope this answers your question, if you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Wishing you good health.

Brief Answer:
Need, some more tests

Detailed Answer:
Hello again,

Thanks for considering my answer and for your follow up.

It's still the same ( your uploads- half loaded). Sorry, I could see only half of the image.

Adenoid is also one of the possibility in your age. Benign swellings from other sites, ear and parotid gland also investigated prior to removal. I suggest you to do CT scan of naso pharynx, ultrasound neck and hearing tests to see the extension.

Whatever the swelling, you need regular follow up with endoscope and monitored care.

All the best. Take care.
