Posted on Mon, 12 Jun 2017
Question: Dear Sir I got blocked nose and sinus and throat pain. I visited local ENT doctor he has prescribed me:-
1. Bentnesol 0.5 mg tablet 2 times for 5 days course
2. Nasal spray: Xylomist 0.1% 2 times for 5 days
3. Glemont f (Montelukast 10mg + Fexofenadine 120 mg) - 1 time at night for 20 days.

My question is its seasonal cold, and if I get well in 5 days , is it safe to continue still for 20 days glemont f.
Will there be any risk of side effects of using it for 20 days?
My Local doctor said you need to take for full 20 days

I am paralelly also taking 3 months course of LIV 52 DS for fatty liver and vitamin d3 lumia 60 k weekly once.
I also take occasionally omez 20 for gastric problems.

My concern is taking glemont f for 20 days shall not affect my liver health? please advice. Also 20 days back I had Tonsils and tool advent 625Mg for 8 days.
Now I am taking Azithromycin for 3 days. Today is 1st day an 2 more doses left

Hi,

Thanks for your question on HealthcareMagic,

I do understand your concern, reviewed the attached reports,

As per your query, you have blocked nose, sinus, and throat pain so your doctor has advised you medication for 20 days after physically examined you and there is no problem in completing the course of medication. It has no serious impact on your liver at all.

Secondly, you are taking medications for your fatty liver and in my opinion, continue with it. Only medications will not help, you need some lifestyle change like —

1) Take a healthy plant-based diet that's rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains. You need to consult with a dietitian for it.

2) Try to maintain a healthy weight. If you are overweight or obese, reduce the number of calories you eat each day and get more exercise. If you have a healthy weight, work to maintain it by choosing a healthy diet and exercising.
Exercise most days of the week.

3)Take a multivitamin capsules regularly and take vaccinations against hepatitis A and Hepatitis B

Regarding your last question, I may say that complete the Azithromycin course as per your doctor's advise.

Hope you got your points, feel free to ask further.

Thanks
