Brief Answer:
You need to give steam inhalation and cetirizine

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on Health care magic.

Such problems usually occur due to certain viral infections. You are doing the right thing by giving nasoclear nasal drops but also need to give some antiallergic like cetirizine to care care of the runny nose. Steam inhalation would so prove useful. Just sit with the child on your lap and place the source of steam before you. The water vapour will be in the air and automatically the child will breathe it in. It will reach deep inside and help in diluting the cough.

If the child develops respiratory distress, wheezing or lethargy, visit your pediatrician at the earliest.

Brief Answer:
levocetirizine + monteleukast is definitely a better alternative

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. Sorry for not being able to respond earlier.

While I had mentioned cetirizine, the combination of levocetirizine + monteleukast is definitely a better alternative and can be safely given. If that is given, no other antihistaminic needs to be given along. Solspre spray has nothing more than nasoclear and therefore using any of the two to clear nasal block should be fine. One or two drops of Nasoclear in each nostril whenever you feel that there could be a nasal block, could be fine.

Brief Answer:
Antibiotics are not needed.

Detailed Answer:
He does not need any antibiotic. As I have already mentioned, these are usually due to viral infections where antibiotics are ineffective. Many doctors still prescribe antibiotics but that is unnecessary. You need not worry. It should be fine in a week or so.

Just monitor for the warning signs I mentioned and you need not worry further.
