Brief Answer:
muscle spasm, analgesics

Detailed Answer:
Hi fib
Welcome
I have gone through your query.
Based on the information provided by you, I feel it might be due to muscle cramps.
I would suggest you to drink plenty of water / fluids, stay hydrated.
Stretching your leg muscles or riding a stationary cycle.
Taking diet rich in calcium and potassium or oral supplements of the same.

You should take NSAID like Aceclofenac with muscle relaxants like Chlorzoxazone/ Tizanidine twice daily for 3-5 days based on the response. You can ask your local doctor for prescription of this agent. Along with this hot compression and analgesic gel or spray will be beneficial.
With this measures you should be fine. Provide sufficient rest to the affected part. ( 2 to 3 weeks).
Another possibility of leg pain can be due to nerve compression in spine. I would have advised MRI spine to see for any nerve compression.Brief Answer:
follow as suggested in earlier post

Also, very bad when I lie down to go to sleep. I take the muscle relaxer at night. So, you think I should try it in am also for 3-5 days. And get MRI of spine to check for nerve compression? Would that MRI also show if the nerve was impinged in the groin area? I drink over 100 oz of water daily. One cup 6 or 8 oz coffee or none at all. That is my only caffeine intake.
