Brief Answer:
Chronic kidney disease and infection

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the query

Frequent stone formers require evaluation. There can be many types of kidney stones. For example uric acid stones, caclium stone, oxalate stones, etc

Here is what he should do

1. Check serum uric acid levels, urine uric acid levels and calcium levels
2. The stone should be sent for evaluation for the type of stone
3. He should drink lots of water, about 2-3 litres per day
4. He should avoid getting dehydrated
5. Reduce raw vegetables, legumes, dal, red meat which contains high oxalate
6. Reduce salt intake. Avoid pickles, papad, chips, etc

Frequent stone can lead to permanent scarring of the kidneys and also infection of the kidney. PLease approach a nephrologist if it happens again for stone evaluation

I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me
