Suggest Treatment For Itchy Red Rashes On Buttocks And Inner Thigh

default
Posted on Tue, 11 Aug 2015
Question: Hello, I have recently got this rash on my buttocks, and inner thigh. It is itchy, and red blotches. I am not sure if this is a bug bite, allergy or possibly an STD. It doesnt hurt, it is just mildly itch. At first it appeared as welts, kind of hive like, about 2 days ago. It first appeared on my buttocks, and now on the backside of my inner thigh. I do not have a fever, or any other issues besides its appearance, and mild itchiness. I know skin issues can be hard to diagnose, but Im just wondering if you help. Thanks

Brief Answer:
Allergy reaction to insect bite/intestinal parasites to determine further..

Detailed Answer:
Hi my dear,

I have gone through the photo you provided and I can say that the rash you are having on your buttocks and inner thigh which is itchy and red blotches, seems to be related to possible insect bite that had thrived this type of allergy.

It will be gone in a few days. You can apply anti-hystamine cream locally to reduce itchiness and continue taking Benadryl. If no improvement, or if the itchiness is unbearable, can go to ER for immediate evaluation and treatment.

Another possibility taking into account the location of rash (on your buttocks) could be intestinal parasites. You can send a stool sample at your local lab to get it further examined for ova/parasites. You can also observe your stool for the presence of small movable larvae.
Itchy rash similar to allergy is often associated with intestinal parasites.

Hope it was of help!

My main worry was that it was possibly Genital Herpes, because I have never had anything like this before down there, and it was getting close to my parts. This came as quite a shock. I know you can only go off the information I provide, an I appreciate your time. I will keep taking Benadryl and get the anti histamine cream.

Brief Answer:
Not typical for genital herpes nor jock itch...as following...

Detailed Answer:
Hi back my dear,

The rash I have seen in the photo you provided is not typical and not suggesting genital herpes.

They are indicating a possible allergy reaction possibly to:
- insect bite
- intestinal parasites

The rash does not resemble to jock itch neither.

I understand it is very itchy, but, if you feel it is unbearable, go to ER as you might need to take steroid shots to ease the itchiness. These are prescription medicines that cannot be given online.

Let me know if you need further assistance!
