Suggest Treatment For Itchy Rashes Between Breasts

default
Posted on Mon, 21 Dec 2015
Question: since mid August after a hiking trip to XXXXXXX i have had a red itchy rash under and between my breasts. Mow it has turned black and flares up at the slightest thing. I can't exercise anymore because it hurts and flares up worse than before. I can't wear cotton sports bras either because thy keep my breasts too close together and i start sweating again. I've used all the natural remedies possible both inside and out but nothing seems to help. Sometimes it seem as if it has dried up but the skin becomes so taut it cracks and I'm back to square one. I have had fungal problems between my breast in the past but nothing anywhere near this gross. I do have large breast and also just moved a year ago to Florida from Europe. Although there I have had this problem to a lesser extent it always cleared up as soon as i would use hydro cortisone creams and powder for the sweat. Help! I can't continue like this.

Hello,
Thank you for posting on HCM.
I can understand your concern regarding the skin lesions and I will try my level best to resolve your problem.
From the history and description, it seems very likely that the rash you are having is fungal infection known as tinea corporis but its very difficult to put definitive diagnosis in absence of actual examination.
Therefore, I insist you to post good clinical pictures to me so that I can help you in a better way.

Thanks for your reply so far. I've sent you the photos via the email you sent. I just had a flare up, so I put an ice pack on the area and feeling a little better. I also mixed a spoon of coconut oil and 2 drops of tea tree oil and rubbed area. I don't have burning sensation anymore but itching remains. Am I doing more harm than good?

Brief Answer:
Oral and topical antifungal medications

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thank you for the pictures.
I have reviewed them carefully and as I suspected you are indeed having fungal infection called tinea corporis.
In my practise in such cases, I usually recommend proper course of oral anti-fungal drugs like Fluconazole or Itraconazole for 2-3 weeks along with anti-fungal cream like luliconazole or sertaconazole for local application over affected areas twice a day. Topical cream is generally applied for 15 days further after complete resolution of lesions.
You can additionally sprinkle antifungal dusting powder containing sertaconazole or clotrimazole on the top of topical cream.
Take oral antihistaminics like Benadryl for itching as required.
Maintain hygiene over those areas and use a soap containing ketoconazole for rinsing of affected areas
Avoid wearing tight undergarments.

Hope your queries are resolved.

Let me know if you require any more assistance from my side.

Wish you best of health.
Thank you
