Insomnia & Detoxification

Detailed Answer:
Dear

Thanks for contacting with your health concern.

1. Both mirtaz [mirtazapine] and nexito [escitalopram] are associated with increased appetite and weight gain so was common ADR [adverse drug reaction] in you.

PS. Insomnia [unable to sleep] is more with nexito while mitaz is associated with disturbed blood picture like: increased liver enzymes, leucopenia, hyponatremia thus check with appropriate laboratory investigations.

2. Lonazep [clonazepam] is used as an anxiolytic but 'unable to sleep' is an unwanted side effect of the drug.

3. do let me know that how it is affecting your health and quality of life? i.e. any work stress, or are there any unrealistic expectations??

4. do let me know about Nutritional status [diet], Hemoglobin, Thyroid Function Test, from your side to kindly let me know if any general Examination/ investigations were carried out to rule the same?

5. If not released the STRESS gets accumulated in the body which is reflected in mind and body: are you in the habit of the same??

PREVENTIVE & PROPHYLACTIC ASPECT

1. avoid caffeine found in coffee, tea, chocolate, cola, and some pain relievers
PS. [four to six hours before bedtime.]

2. quiet, dark, and cool environment can help promote sound sleep.
PS. [Use heavy curtains, or an eye mask to block light, and also keeping computers, TVs, and other work materials out of the room will help promote mental bonding between your bedroom and sleep]

3. Avoid stressful, stimulating activities like doing work, discussing emotional issues.
PS. Physically and psychologically stressful activities can cause the body to secrete the stress hormone cortisol, which is associated with increasing alertness.

4. take dinner 2-3 hours before bedtime and avoid foods that cause indigestion. [spicy-heavy- junk food]

5. avoid afternoon napping to prevent late night awakening [ between 2-3 pm is ideal, but that too sitting on a chair while head resting on table]

6. looking at clock in your bedroom, [when you are trying to fall asleep] can actually increase stress, making it harder to fall asleep. Turn your clock’s face away from you.

7. Principle is to have well balanced diet with more of proteins and more Calories with exercise, take more of cereals, legumes, daal egg,and eat fresh fruits regularly with sweet pulp like (banana, XXXXXXX chickoos, grapes)

8. take banana, black grapes, orange, spinach, ginger, tomatoes, curd, take diet rich in vitamin C (Citrus fruits) and vitamin E (sunflower seeds, almonds, apricots, peanuts) which are rich in anti oxidants

9. Lemon juice mixed with sugar in a glass of water helps release stress removing hormones from the body and bring mind at peace/rest.

10. Mix 4-5 dates in half glass of water and drink 2 times daily for a month.

11.
. eat 2 spoon coriander seeds with 2 spoons of sugar candy
. rub castor oil on palms and feet
. drink a juice of coriander leaves, water and sugar.
. before retiring to bed wash your mouth, head, back of neck, both ears and legs with cold water
. make a paste of 'bhang' with cow/goat milk and massage on feet.
. take a glass of XXXXXXX milk at bed time [best sleep inducer].
. brahmi vati 2
sarphagandha ghan vati 2.... at bed time with milk

.ashwagandha arishta: 20 ml
sarasvta arishta: 20 ml [after meals with equal amount of water]

. put a black dot on the distal phalynx of middle and ring fingers of both sides ( the black dot can be marked by any marker and should be exactly in the mid line of the fingers. They are to be applied at night on both sides- works in 80% cases).

Thanks for reply.

The problem started with work stress only. I used to travel in night & even used to sleep less than requirement. While driving, i used to take very little rest. So i never feel as tiredness as i should be.. When i had consulted psychiatrist around three years back. He told me that earlier i used to avoid tiredness & sleep. Now my mind is not taking the such messages from my body. My Hb is 12 & if required, i will send you my TFT. Now i want to enjoy the sound sleep. Yours perscribed medicine may help to overcome my problem.

Brief Answer:
Anxiety Stress

Detailed Answer:
Dear

Thanks for reverting back

1. since you used to travel [too much travel] in night which is the peak period of Pitta [10pm-2am] thus taking/getting less sleep than required didn't helped you in any way since it only burned/fatigued you [as pitta is related with fire].

2. make sure that common secondary causes like depression, acid reflux, sleep apnea are ruled out for better management of the disease.

3. start with savasana or corpse pose [yoga] and deep abdominal breathing [pranayama] to promote relaxation.

4. application of himsagar oil and/or brahmi oil on soles and scalp before sleep is good.

5. if possible drink XXXXXXX milk at bed time, since it is the best inducer of sleep in Ayurveda.

Brief Answer:
Overcome Depression

Detailed Answer:
Dear

Thanks for reverting back

1. In Ayurveda first principle of treatment is " removal of the cause" thus as business issue is the causative factor thus only you can remove/identify the cause with necessary strategies, Ayurveda management will help overcome your way of thinking by changing your mood and thoughts.

PS. Anything you do, go low and go slow [baby steps] and make changes gradually, as your small changes become habit, you can continue to ADD more healthy choices, since if you fail, it could be a forceful setback in overcoming depression.

2. one very good result oriented and prescription medicine will be 'mans XXXXXXX vatkam' 1 tablet at bed time, and prescribed medicine will help overcome change lifestyle.
