Brief Answer: You should not have stopped it. Detailed Answer: Hi XXXX, Hope you are in good health. I do not see any reason why thyroid tablet is stopped. you were diagnosed with hypothyroidism, kept on tablet after which it improved and the next moment, you stopped it. There lies the mistake. Your thyroid function stabilized after taking tablets, meaning, you should continue to take the same dose at least for 2 years or till you develop signs of toxicity, when it should be ideally tapered and stopped. Now i would suggest you to restart the tablet at the same dose of 50 mcg, and get re-tested after 8 weeks. You should be fine.

Brief Answer: No, it will be fine. Detailed Answer: Hi, No. As you know it earlier, you can use the tablets so that your preg will be fine. REMEMBER- A pregnant needs 50% extra thyroid hormone than a non pregnant female. So keep using 50 for now, once you are diagnosed with pregnancy, your doctor re tests for thyroid and will probably increase the dose to 62.5 or 75 mcg. It is suggested to take calcium supplements along with thyroid tablet to prevent bone loss ( A common side effect of thyroxine). If you are closed with the discussion, please rate it. Thank you in advance and all the best for your pregnancy.
