Question: hello
I have hypothyroidism and suffer from hair loss.I am on treatment but hair loss doesn't stop. But there periods of remission where there is no hair loss at all.I am on homeopathy for hypothyroidism from a reputed and world renouned healthcare brand as I don't want to take eltroxin as tamoxifen and anastrazole have made my bones weaker and I don't want to add to the misery. My TSH levels during time of diagnosis was 7.Now it is in range between 2.5 to 3. I was advised only 12.5 mg of eltroxin which I didn't start, instead opted for homeopathy.
Kindly help.

Brief Answer:
persisting hairloss because of hypothyroidism

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the query

Hairloss can persists even after proper treatment of hypothyroidism. Here is what I suggest

1. Hairfall upto 100 strands per day is normal and you don't need to worry about it
2. I suggest you to get a t4 and t3 along with tsh to know if hypothyroidism is under good control.
3. Wash your hair with a good shampoo according to the type of hair at least 3 times a week
4. Keep your scalp oil free and dirt free
5. Minoxidil topical application twice a day stops further Hairfall
6. continue vitamin supplements especially vitamin e
