Brief Answer:
Need to rule out APSGN

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Sir.

I understand your concern.

Going by the lab results, you child possibly seem to have urinary tract infection.

In many cases, this could be a sequel of throat infection.

This could be an Acute Poststreptococcal Glomerulonephritis/APSGN.

For confirmation, I advise you to get STREPTOZYME TEST which measures 5 different streptococcal antibodies and C3 complement levels.

Careful follow-up is needed with regular urine examination and BP monitoring at 0, 3, 6, 9 and 12 months if APSGN is diagnosed.

Currently, Augmentin therapy seems appropriate.

Additional drugs may be needed if APSGN is diagnosed.

Post your further queries if any.
Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Your doctor prescribed right dosage of Augmentin Duo

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Madam.

I can understand your concern.

I apologise for the delayed response.

It may take 3-4 days for the fever to resolve.

Your doctor has rightly prescribed the right dosage of Augmentin Duo to your child. The typical dosage is 20-25 mg/kg/day in divided doses. This accounts to 460-575 mg. 5 ml syrup contains 200 mg of amoxicillin. Hence, 7.5 ML contains 300 mg, twice a day accounts for 600 mg which is just above 575 mg actually required.

Post your further queries if any,
Thank you.
