Brief Answer:
The side effects of Revlamar can be handled easily.

Detailed Answer:
Hi!

I'm Dr. Neel Kudchadkar and I will help you right now.

You mentioned that your father was suffering from CKD, meaning chronic kidney disease, and you said that his creatinine and urea levels were 2.4 and 45. These levels are on the high side and are indicative of kidney issues.

Now, these medications that you mention that are being administered TDS (three times a day) called as Aplazar and Revlamar, are known to reduce the levels of uric acid in the blood.

However, Revlamar is known to cause the exact side effects of constipation, flatulence and anorexia that you have reported.

You can take your father to a urologist and have Colestilan given to him instead of Revlamar. However, we need to palliate the constipation and the flatulence.

I'll ask you to give him two medicines that you do not need a doctors prescription for. (In most countries)

I suggest that you give him one capsule of omeprazole at night. This will take care of the flatulence issues quite effectively.

In constipation caused by phosphate binders like Revlamar, I would suggest paraffin based laxative such as cremaffin syrup. Please do not give him laxatives like Bisacodyl. I would also suggest that you do not give him any high fibre based remedies like Isabgol.

It has taken quite some thought to correctly answer your question and help you the best. So, kindly follow the advice.

I thank you for your cooperation.
Feel free to ask me questions as regards any doubts.

Most sincerely,
