Suggest Treatment For Headaches And Neck Pain

default
Posted on Wed, 16 Sep 2015
Question: I am 35 yrs old. I have been under medication (Tazloc-20mg) for Hypertension. I am frequently getting headaches, at least weekly once. Generally associated with neck pain, some time with nausea. Observed some disturbance in my fluency of language, i can say a kind of confusion( others cannot notice, where as I can feel that). Got some medical checkups. It says my B12 is way below and vitamin -D is also very low. Now I am worried whether my deficiency has caused any problem (if un-repairable). I am also non-vegetarian. Is absorption is being very low? or my BP medicines has any side effects? I really need good Physician's advice and investigation.

Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist,here to answer your query.

No,vitamin D and vitamin B12 deficiencies have not caused any irreversible damage. Please continue taking supplementation and it will improve.

This deficiency is dietary related and lifestyle related(inadequate exposure to sunlight),probably and not due to the side effects of BP medicine.

Further, vitamin D and B12 deficiency are not the cause of headache here.Headache is most likely Tension type headache.
Please start doing mental relaxation exercises like meditation/yoga and I hope that you'll be fine.
Non steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines can be taken on sos basis(at the time of headache) for headache.

Hope that I have answered your query. If you have some further questions,I shall be glad to answer else please close the thread, rate it and write a review as your rating will be of help to me.

Regards
Dr.Ajay Panwar,
